I have thousands of nested JSON files from survey statistics. The JSON format / schema is not really set and can change. I need to compare / diff the different entries over time and also make general statements over the dataset (e.g. how many people have red noses etc.). I'd also like to version it (with git?)

Can you suggest a database or technology well suited for this? Preferably something that works with Python or R.
