I was fortunate to have a room in my house that had already been designated as a home office, and I got to make it better. This meant most of the distractions of an open office went away (admittedly, new distractions came; for example, my dog is keenly aware of my work schedule and always informs me when it's time to stop for the day).
But I also don't do as much whiteboard collaboration because no coworkers are in my house. Remote work doesn't have all the advantages of a private office.
