This is St Michael's Mount, in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. It's a famous tidal island that you can walk to at low tide, but once upon a time it was just a prominent rock in the middle of a forest. Its name in Cornish is 'Karrek Loos yn Koos', which translates as 'the grey rock in a wood'. Sometimes, after big storms, the remains of trees are still washed up on the Mount's Bay beaches.
