It was a nice stupid speech where he discussed the exciting future for ABB and everyone associated with ABB and the marvels that ABB will be involved in once the 21st century really begins. He was Scottish, so I enjoyed the burr in his delivery.
Afterward the guy walked amongst the crowd, shaking hands and chitchatting. Thinking that this guy gives a shit what a peon like me would have to say, I stood in line to shake his hands and introduce myself. Everyone in front of me was blathering about their background and gushing about his speech, so brilliant me decided to differentiate myself. When I got to the guy I shook his hand and said, "Hello, it was great to listen to you. I absolutely adore Scottish accents."
He looked at me like I was a retard. I didn't know what to do so I just walked away. It was right then and there that I knew that I should never try to speak with anyone ever again because I'm an awkward faggot.
