Protips for maybe surviving nuclear war:
1. Don't live in or near a major population center likely to be nuked.
2. Have at least 2 weeks worth of nonperishable food and water and stay indoors during that time period to avoid nuclear fallout
3. Ideally you'll also be in a place that's somewhat insulated from the ensuing chaos of the power outages, supply chain disruptions, etc.
4. You'll want to have firearms in case people try to rob you of your foodstuffs
5. Battery-powered radios can be invaluable for surviving the EMP blast that'll shut down most electronics
6. You may want extra supplies on top of that to help endure supply chain disruptions and whatever else might happen

Really all of these are a good idea for a number of reasons whether or not a nuclear war actually happens.
