My initial reaction is "good, I want this technology to fail" but the sad reality is it will be used to track people. All the times you've thought "I'm not that important, they don't have enough people working in the government to focus on me" I just assume that there are people working on learning models to go over cold cases and things like that, not to mention pre-crime. A lack of public engagement in the technology might actually be really bad news.
