the red letter media guys don't seem to understand the original exorcist, they keep complaining that the new one doesn't make sense with multiple religions because the demon was catholic in the original. but it wasn't, it was a sumerian pre-christian demon. at one point the priests splash it with holy water and it burns, but then they privately admit it wasn't really holy water, which heightens the ambiguity about the origins of the demon.
