Little bit of Irish history - women’s fight for the right to contraceptives. I knew about the big attention-grabbing stunts, like the “contraceptive train” where women went up to Belfast and brought contraceptives back to Dublin - but I had barely heard of this woman before. Fair play May McGee!

Note that one of the solicitors was Seán McBride, son of Maud Gonne, and founder of Amnesty International - the human rights organisation that once included women’s rights in its remit.
