Most of the DSLR cameras I have seen/used/own use SD cards for storage, a SD/USB adapter works great.

You might be shocked at what they cost, ours is old enough that our phones take higher MP images but we still bring it on trips as it is good enough and phones are not that great to hold for taking pictures. If I could find a cover/case for the phone that would let me hold it like a DSLR I would get it.
