Bit of a size comparison of my old 400mm and the new one. First image is them with hood, the second is them compacted down. The Sigma 100-400 fully extended is abot the same lenth as the Vivitar compacted down. Inn adition the Sigma takes 67mm filters and the vivitar needs 77. (All mine are 72)
