When I was in college in Singapore I had a ‘tandoori chicken fan club’ and it was mostly people who followed me to every back alley near our school that I knew of, so that we could eat food (often tandoori chicken).
For many years I would also knock on random doors (that I knew of) and aunties would feed us (for a fee). I got a lot of amazing Nepali food that way. I guess my life hasn’t changed that much in that regard.
