There is an argument in the media that the rest of the House GOP is being held hostage by 5 extremist members. If they are hostages, they have a severe case of Stockholm syndrome. They could always work with Democrats on bi-partisan budget that could pass, and on a moderate speaker with bi-partisan support and just ice the extremists out. They are willing hostages and would never do this. They are all part of the plan to prevent the government from functioning at all.
