my #Pinephone took a bad fall: cracked screen and broke some connections on the bottom board. replacement screen cost $40, daughterboard (for USB-C, internal speaker and vibrator) was $10: no parts hunting, just bought from the same shop that sells the phone.

took an hour to transfer the mainboard/sensors/etc over because i was very cautious, but really neat to be able to do that job at home and for so cheap. last time i cracked an iPhone i just lived with it for a year because trying to fix it myself was too risky (i'd probably break something else during a repair) and taking it to a shop was too expensive.
