1. take ambien
2. don't lay down and try to go to sleep. Go be addicted to the internet or play a video game or something

All I gained from the experience is an absolute rule to never do that again. If I ever take ambien right as my house catches fire I will lay down on the grass outside and let someone else be awake to deal with it.
