That's to be expected. We are recovering from a global pandemic. A lot of businesses went bust, and productivity is down for a range of complicated social reasons; demoralisation, degraded mental health, people suffering ongoing health problems due to Long COVID etc.
But are they doing as bad as they would have if the recovery plan was tax cuts for the rich, paid for by cutting public services, and wage cuts to increase profits? Doubt it.
