I read a thing a while back that claimed that it's "straight" men who are the ones that end up in the emergency room with things in their ass because they can't just buy a dildo and maintain the straight facade so they have to covertly shove whatever they have around the house up there. I am inclined to disbelieve this because 1. I seriously doubt they are doing exit interviews that could tease out this type of information to say this with assurance and 2. it doesn't explain other extreme insertions like people coming in with their colon filled with cement or shoving pushpins into their perineum. I think the simpler explanation is the correct one, people are just into freaky shit.
