In fact, in previous times when vaccines were hard to come by, doing this at a mom and pop pharmacy was by far the easiest way to find a shot, where I am, because most people didn't think to try this. My pharmacy had a pencil and paper waiting list of people to call when they had a no-show for a 5 minute vaccine appointment.
