So this invite has a special place in my heart, it was part of a design pitch for a show for a very wealthy client who wanted to put on a giant immersive absurdist event that was artistic and showed off their grand mansion. We were the "cheap" option company being brought into see if we could undercut / lower the asking price of the two big fish companies.
Had a wonderful evening with a friend where knowing we had to go big and off piste as it, we were given full reign to try and come up with the most bizarre option. We came up with the idea of a man called Jean Ennui who lived forever, and was this grand collector and he had collected these beings that werent human who wanted to provide seven human experiences. Effectively the idea of "explain a bus to an alien in three sentences" but expanded to now The alien is going to make you ride on what the alien thinks a bus is now you briefly described one to it.
And every room would be this hyper-textual world floor to ceiling, so there would be a "birthday party" room that was filled with fur/fluff cuddly texture and the beings would be giant series of squishy sphere fluffy beings trying to host an aliens bad understand of what a birthday party might be.
