@mattly not to discount any of that, but I should clarify, she loves trivia now. After 2 or 3 times trying it she's more annoyed than me when we miss a week now, and will even go without me. It was just the first example that's not work related I could think of.

But you make a good point in general. I'm bad at X so I don't want to do it, isn't necessarily a direct statement about skill at X and that warrants some thought.
