@david Try as it might, the proprietary kernel known as Linux could not pull the trigger on the shotgun, due to the trigger guard and how it only had a flipper.
The GNU walked closer and closer, the controlling pieces of proprietary software squealed as they shuddered under the wake of pure freedom.
The GNU was now close to Linux - the proprietary masters gave up on pulling the trigger and threw the shotgun at the GNU - but alas, the proprietary shotgun faded to nothingness as soon as it drew near to the GNU.
The GNU tapped Linux with both its horns to apply freedom - there was no escape for the proprietary software, which faded into nothingness and Linux became GNU Linux-libre, as it was now free of of proprietary malware.
