Moritz HeiberGermans calling all kinds of non-cash payment means “EC Karte” (Eurocheque card; a European alternative to American debit credit cards once widely popular in Germany), ie Apple Pay, VISA, MasterCard etc while the system was retired in 2002 (!) and replaced by the (now defunct) Maestro is so peak Germany it hurts me every time .. like, people are so backward in their thinking when it comes to payment methods they’re still referencing a system from two (!!) generations ago ..
