- Embed this notice@jeffcliff @Boomerman @Eiswald @LivingSpaceStudios @YeetLibs @wishgranter14 Yep, during that big freeze awhile back people pointed out to ERCOT* that they supposedly had excess capacity of wind and solar and ERCOT responded that those facilities were "down for maintenance". It's a clever little accounting trick that lets them keep those facilities on their books as "assets" even though they'll never produce a joule of electricity ever again because they've fallen into disrepair and it would be cheaper to rebuild them than fix them.
*They're kind of like our electricity mafia
