If you fire up GNU ed and write straight machine code, the resulting executable is the source code and also happens to be directly executable as well.
Such binary would be difficult to modify in practice, but such is free software as long as it's suitably licensed.
Of course, people are going to read the above, write some source code that produces a 50MiB binary and claim that the executable is the source code.
