Yes, although you would have to manually select each device - there's a setting to refuse "airdrop" from unknown devices, but that's not set by default.

The "airdrop" protocol is proprietary, but with some reverse engineering and fun with a SDR, you can do a bunch of things, including total device compromise (such bugs are now reportedly fixed).
