@ryo @TerminalAutism NK has two fatal flaws; no food and the strong armed attempts to suppress SK culture.

I read that this American show called Dallas wound up toppling communism in at least one country (Romania) because while the show in the west was intended to satirize the excess of certain American states, seeing the same imagery when you're a starving prole waiting in bread lines living in a shitty state funded apartment block makes you want to topple your leader so you can have that too. In that case the leader let it air on TV because "haha americans bad" and the starving people saw it differently.

So North Korea has to keep the South Korean TV shows where the common person in those has food and a nice car (in a country with the lowest rate of auto ownership in the world) and you can see why there's more to fear than just South Korean culture replacing or influencing NK culture.

The extreme lockdowns NK did also caused supplies/food to not flow into the country as easily and I've heard they've now lifted the most extreme of the lockdowns, along with importing vaccines from China.
