IllTemperedCaviar@MediaActivist one place I briefly lived, southwest Colorado maybe, the “utility company” was a ratepayer-owned cooperative. I remember the rates seemed reasonable and at the end of the year I got a check because they had a profit left, so they divvied it up among the customers. I wonder if that type of arrangement could catch on.
