Caroline 💜@coolboymew There was also Cloyster (which is also a really weird pokemon). I guess they kinda did the same thing with Gengar (for non-censorship reasons)? They keep fucking with the Gengar line’s colours and I think the darker sprites were better. Haunter looks like a genuinely scary shadow monster and Gengar looks like it’s about to mug you in a dark alleyway.
