@Silicanus yea ok
tl;dr Black lesbians in 1974 needed to coin “Idpol” because other feminists and “leftists” were ignoring their needs, then later Kimberlè Crenshaw coined intersectionality, which “means” that having more than two marginalized identities is more intense than the sum of its parts. Idpol got criticized by dipshit bastards and also cool people, for different reasons, then made a resurgence in 2016, with an even more warped meaning on all sides. Standpoint theory is a thing that “means” “I know my own life.” Idpol means lots of contradicting stuff, but it having shittier, newer meanings don’t mean that the original meanings are shit or lost too.
tl;dr idpol is complicated and can be cool and can be shit and words don’t mean things but black lesbians are cool and important and oppression olympics is wack and not the point and an op and im not an expert but caring about stuff at all is probably fine i guess
tl;dr nobody knows what idpol fucking means but I sure do wanna do LOTS OF violence pls help
tl;dr idpol won’t save us
