@binarytango @feditips nice to hear, but it also reinforces that there are technical aspects to #mastodon that make it harder for non-techies to make use of it. i assumed i could probably do *something* to make a solo server work, but i didn't want to have to face that learning curve, nor spend the time required when it was just easier to go back to a big server
