Bottle service kind of works sometimes. When I was in Korea there weren't many places that carried bourbon or whiskey that wasn't just garbage like Jack Daniels. You could however find a few places that would order good shit from overseas specifically if you were willing to buy the whole bottle. I had two bars and one club that I had hold bottles for me. With one of the bars it meant that I didn't need a reservation to come in and listen to jazz. With the club it meant I could skip the line and just go inside. I sure as fuck wouldn't pay $500 for a bottle of Woodford Reserve, but a 20% markup is reasonable considering I was out of country and it was impossible to find anything I liked in the commissary.
