If you've been mentioned in the discussion, you can mute it so you don't get notified about it.

If there are particular people taking part whose contributions you want to hide, you can mute them temporarily (select a time period when muting them).

If there's a particular topic you want to avoid, you could use keyword filters to hide posts that mention it.
