Went through the same some time ago.. It's fun and all, but after a while I just do not feel like running it anymore for various reasons. I spent some time learning what I needed to more easily develop the software I work on - on NixOS, but after a while I jumped back to another OS. I usually run debian, but this time I decided to give OpenSuse tumbleweed a shot, so that's what I run now.
