I think the case might be similar when it comes to "green energy, lets save the planet" people and feminists. They also try to force their agenda on everyone and by doing so they cause a lot of reputational damage to whole feminist movement and everything that's associated with Eco movement.
In the past feminists were gigachads fighting for voting rights for women and for real equality but now they just scream about "inequality" whenever in some workplace or company there isn't exactly 50% men and 50% women or majority of women - most of the time modern feminism has nothing to do with the one which was in the beginning.
The same with Eco movement: most of the time its about making something look "green and ecological" and just filling the pockets of the right people. Take for example Eco activists in Germany who were like: our own nuclear power plants bad but gas pipeline straight from Russia to us through the sea good. Now we can observe where that got them - just look up what types of measures they will apply to save the energy because of being completely dependent on Russia.
Last thing is reputational damage: as you mentioned in trannies case - their actions lead to them being insufferable and commonly hated because of what are they associated with now. Same case is with the other 2 groups mentioned by me. Whenever you hear something about "being ecological and saving the planet" or "fighting for womens rights" most of the time you instantly associate it with dumb propaganda and people just screaming and causing problems instead of solving them. And the ones who suffer from it the most are the normal people among all these screaming Eco/trans/feminist activists.
