@CSB if you're in a professional setting, only pure professionalism should be used when you have to lie or something outside the professional environment is encroaching - my goto is "I'm sorry, I'm getting an important package that have to sign for, I wouldn't interrupt unless it was important, but I hoped it would come after our meeting."
If you say "I have to get something super trivial to everyone but me..." then I think that's more rude than lying as I do, but we're both kind of wrong.
