My wife has a close friend that has her 100 year old mother living with her, and she doesn't do that stuff but she is sickeningly sweet and cheerful all the time and expects same from her daughter and this drives my wife's friend bonkers. Having your elderly parents living with you seems to be a very stressful thing.
