There’s no more color because there’re no more children. Without kids in your life it’s easy to become detached from vibrance, joy, and vitality. The norm used to be working parents, now it’s sterilized, joyless bug people living like urban automatons. They see color as an eyesore, an uncomfortable reminder that they are alone and have nothing to live for.
The HR roastie caste will say it’s because they want to court a more “mature” or “classy” adult demographic, but they’re just dead inside.
