"By daylight---and the scant interior lighting---there was much to want from the cabin. A smell of must pervaded the air---only damp and not mold, if they were lucky. The room was cramped with too large furniture, and the remaining space was filled with clutter. The doors and window frames fit poorly, warped by years of unchecked humidity and temperature. In all honesty, it wasn’t any larger than his old prison cell."
