@shibao just having to maintain a regular contact with people who you, perhaps by some familiar ties feel some obligation or at the least do not wish any ill to, but also can't really explain yourself to in any meaningful way(to the point that they are not of "your world" in the realest sense, as in there is no hope of the situation ever changing). While potentially inspiring, it is also probably not the most pleasant of experiences for most(bound to elicit some conflicting feelings about those around you unless one is extremely conscious about this)
think due to this + various other similar emotional responses it doesn't really work, even if there surely is a certain disgust response causing the truest of NPCs to call others NPCs, those with differing (moral)preferences from mainstream who yet find themselves unable realize them due to them not being the mainstream
