Also, remember bottled water is not subjected to the same environmental regulations that tap water is.
Bottled Water is regulated by the FDA. The Food & Drug Administration.
Tap water is regulated by the EPA. The Environmental Protection Agency.
Most bottling facilities are self-regulated because the FDA doesn’t have the staff to inspect every bottling plant.
Whereas municipalities are REQUIRED to perform mandatory testing of their water supply and water quality and report those findings regularly to the EPA.
Those water quality reports are publicly available for every municipal water supply in the Country.
