AudunWhy do people think that they can fix society with technology? The whole #Facebook on #ActivityPub discussion is flawed. ActivityPub alone can't save us from bad actors and data harvesting. Bringing more people into the Fediverse is a good thing, even if it's done by Meta. Bad practices by Meta can't be stopped by keeping them out of the #Fediverse, they should be stopped period. A ban on commercial surveillance can stop that, that's where the political focus should be, not on who talks to who.
