This is what happens when free software projects accomplished all the necessary preparatory work for centralised players to use the code and scale quickly. This is what "freedom" achieves. But as long as people don't reflect on these negative sides of "free" software, things will keep being like this. Perhaps it is indeed a good time to leave the Fediverse for good.
