@rq You can't really buy software anymore.

There no longer a business anymore in making copies of software, as anyone can make a copy with a computer and $0.0000001 of electricity.

While there is a business in renting out sabotaged proprietary malware that's designed to resist copying, such activities are quite disgraceful.


Still, there's nothing wrong with paying to receive a copy of software as long as it's free.

I would be happy to pay for free software, but in most cases it's provided gratis due to the ease of sharing a copy.
