It has been forever thus, for most of man's history. One imagines, that only at intermittent, brief moments in our mysterious history, have kindles and sparks of mirages, resembling freedom, been briefly exposed to man and his imagination.

However, if the kings of the earth have their way, truth will be whatever their narrative of reality is, whatever they tell us.
