There was a brief time I got really good about adding alt text to my images...

And then at some point the Mastodon web client got a change made where alt text was shown by default rather than when requested, and it showed in a box covering the image itself.

There were multiple images I posted where you couldn't even see the image because it was a short/wide image and the alt text covered the whole thing.

Ever since then I've found myself reluctant to add the alt-text, which sucks.
