:meru_mewwuluv: b e a r d@memeextremist @justnormalkorean @Shadowman311 they're not just mediocre, they're all really fucking good games. is there a 1st party mario game that isn't insanely polished and fun? i don't mind if i'm playing "the same game" over and over again, if it's more of the same good thing i see that as an absolute win. clearly, a lot of other people do with the ongoing resurgence of retro-inspired indie titles that just take the same thing we have seen time and time again but refine it further or introduce some small new things here and there.
bethesda has the community aspect right, with a few blunders along the way but they have the right spirit at the very least, but their games are just blech. very ambitious, but unrefined.
nintendo is the opposite. it frequently seems like they actually hate their fans. however, their games are incredibly refined, especially given the hardware they run on.
at the end of the day, i'd still rather play a good game from a developer i know doesn't give a shit about me, than a bad/broken game from a developer that claims they give a shit about me but doesn't actually deliver a solid product.
