If you can't come across Kbin/Lemmy users incidentally (by people boosting them into your feed), then I think the best way would be to have a browse of the "Magazines" list on kbin.social or the "Communities" list of a big Lemmy instance like beehaw.org, and copy-paste the URLs into the search bar on your instance. However, this is still a bit finnicky… sometimes stuff doesn't come up even when you put the URL in correctly. I think posts are more likely to come up as expected than users, which are in turn more likely than communities. It's definitely something where improvements are needed, and I'm sure the devs have it on their radar as something to work on 🙂
