    @cwebber on the other hand given what a nightmare it is to do a very basic thing like "I am running glibc X but I want to link against glibc Y for maximum compatibility" it's not hard to understand why doing things "the right way" is unappealing

    reading thru https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2856438/how-can-i-link-to-a-specific-glibc-version feels like a great big "fuck you for wanting to do that, go install a different operating system"
