I think the importance of bridging generational divides gets glossed over in the groomer debate.
We should make friends with the youth and try to see the world from their perspective. We should normalize communication between generations to better prepare them for the future and better understand their vision. We should create and foster environments where young people feel safe talking to us. We've already seen what happens when the older generations don't care to do this. Most of the boomers did not teach my generation ANY skills to survive. I aim to break that cycle.
To add to this: the more wholesome elders with good intentions reach out, the less likely the young are to be preyed upon. If you're not actively trying to bridge that gap as a positive example, you're just leaving them more open to predators.
