Such "marketshare" stats appear to be based off the useragents of the used that browse degenerate sites that don't show anything without proprietary JavaScript.
The stats aren't very useful, as GNU users are unlikely to visit those sites, or at least use Tor Browser to visit - thus reporting a windows useragent most of the time.
>GNU has to somehow step up their game if they want more users to join their side
The freedom has been set at 11 for decades now and more free software than ever before is available, so we really can't do any better.
Unfortunately, users need to decide for themselves to stop falling for the proprietary tricks and join us on the superfortress we've built.
>Windows is just too convenient for the average user
Windows only has the appearance of convenience - it's just that everything else has been sabotaged with countless layers of proprietary tricks.
As I have sadly used windows before, I have personal experience of how inconvenient it is to complete basic tasks and how much of a dumpster fire everything is.
@Mair >Linux needs to be al least 50% better than windows if it wants to win
The kernel, Linux is 1000% better than the mess known as the NT kernel, but a kernel is useless on its own sadly.
The GNU OS is 100% free software, thus it is better it every single way - although it happens to be much more reliable and functionally better than windows.
