Yanks just seem less sweary on the whole, class compared with class, than Brits? (In public social spaces and pop media - I've never lived in the US.)
I mean, I just pulled that out of my arse, it's completely anecdotal but I get the feeling they find swearing uncouth and... icky? And definitely see it as a signifier of inferior discursive competence?
Whereas the peoples of the UK and Ireland know swearing is both big *and* clever.
